Artist Biography

Beverly Rayner's inventive and eclectic photography based mixed-media objects give tangible form to the psychological wiring of the human mind.  Rayner observes and interprets everyday experiences through the lens of her art.

In this new work Rayner explores how the eyes gather perceptions of the world and transmit them to the brain. She also interprets the implications of being surrounded by the omnipresent web of surveillance that is a fact of life in our current society.

Rayner uses any type of photographic materials that serves her purposes, including black and white prints, color prints, negatives, color transparencies, found photographs and x-rays.   These images are combined with everyday and unusual objects, culminating in the formation of hybrid creations.
